About the Marina
Located a few minutes drive from the A2/M2 motorway-crossing on the River Medway, Elmhaven Marina is ideally situated just forty minutes from London and within easy access of a mainline railway station. A quiet and friendly marina with pontoon moorings on the tidal River Medway, Elmhaven enjoys one of the most delightful and tranquil locations, with enviable views across open countryside to the start of the famous North Downs.
Just a mile or so downstream is Historic Rochester with its fine Norman castle, impressive cathedral and olde world high street made famous in the novels of Charles Dickens. A little further and the Chatham historic dockyard with five hundred years of naval history is located and, just a few miles beyond that, the fine cruising grounds of the Medway and Thames estuary with its many creeks, harbours, pubs and places to visit.
From Sheerness, which marks the end of the Medway, the Essex east coast and Kent north coast give superb open water cruising and seaway to the Continent and beyond.
A few miles upstream of Elmhaven Marina, the River Medway becomes non tidal at the first of its locks at Allington. From there you can cruise the seventeen miles or so of non-tidal river, through some of the prettiest countryside in Kent.
Offering an uncommonly quiet and tranquil space away from hub-bub and noise, Elmhaven Marina is one of the river Medway’s best kept secrets.
